Application of Copper Foil
Copper foil is used in various ways in household and industry
Soft, ductile metal with a long history of use, copper can be made into various objects
Copper foil is widely used in professional colored glass projects, the electronic industry, and several automotive parts due to its excellent conductivity and colored glass repair
Colored glass art is created by cutting colored or stained glass into beautiful shapes and then fusing fragments Because it is used to connect glass sheets together, copper foil is an essential element in this process
In addition, copper foil produces pins, gaskets, screens, radiators, tubes, aperture punches, transformers, and cable connectors Copper foil is also used in heat exchangers, circuit boards, and structural engineering
Copper foil transformer can operate at high temperature and improve electrical efficiency We can use copper foil transformer to improve the electrical stress resistance and overall regulation capability
How to make copper foil in industry?
There are two common methods for manufacturing copper foil in industry Electrodeposition and calendering
1. Electro decomposition
For preparing copper electrolyte for electrodeposition, high-grade copper must be soluble in acid The electrolyte solution is fed into a rotating, partially submerged, charged drum These drums are electrodeposited with a thin layer of copper Another name for this process is electroplating
In the manufacturing process of electrodeposited copper, copper foil is deposited from copper solution on a rotating titanium drum connected to a DC voltage source The anode is immersed in the copper electrolyte, while the cathode is connected to the drum The drum rotates very slowly and copper deposits on it when an electric field is generated The copper surface on one side of the drum is smooth, but the other side is rough
The drum speed becomes slower and the copper becomes thicker Copper is drawn in and deposited on the cathode surface of the titanium drum The sanded surface and roller surface of copper foil are treated repeatedly, making copper suitable for production
2. Manufacturing of copper foil by rolling process
Rolling equipment There are three types of hot rolling mills, cold rolling mills, and foil mills
The process starts with hot rolling copper ingots, heating to 750 C. Then, the thickness is reduced by repeated reverse hot rolling
Before the first cold rolling, mill to remove the oxide scale produced by heat treatment
The thickness of the sheet is reduced to about 4 mm during cold rolling, and the coil is created from the sheet After this process, these coils are again cold rolled by the foil mill to obtain the required thickness of copper foil
Benefits of copper foil
Because of its ductility and ductility, copper can be easily processed
In addition to its excellent electrical quality, the simplicity of pulling in wires makes it suitable for electrical operation
Copper can be processed; However, it is usually necessary to use alloys to obtain strong machinability for precision parts such as threaded parts
Due to its excellent thermal conductivity, it works well in heat exchangers and radiators
Copper foil has good corrosion resistance and surface finish
Weldable, with excellent brazing and soldering quality, and gas shielded metal arc welding produces the best results
How to use copper foil for winding transformer coil?
Copper foil used in transformer windings now replaces traditional coil wires Transformer design manufacturers first demonstrated this unique construction method to the aircraft industry in the 1960s The efficiency of these transformers exceeds 95% and the regulation is 2% to 5%
The basic components of the building include:
Glass fiber
Electrical grade copper foil
Winding to winding insulation suitable for temperature
Windshield insulation
Copper foil transformers are manufactured in all standard mechanical configurations, such as isolation transformers or autotransformers, and they operate within the limits of single-phase or polyphase currents
Power range from 25 Virginia to 50 kVA
Frequency from 300Hz to 10kHz
Temperature range from – 50 C to 250 C
Copper foil wound transformers have many advantages over wire wound transformers Copper foil is thin and light; As a result, these transformers are lighter Copper foil transformer is more reliable and smaller than wire transformer

Copper Foil Production Process
The manufacturing of copper foil is a high-end industry in which copper is electrodeposited from an electrolyte onto a rotating drum. The electric loop is closed again by positioning MMO anodes on opposite sides of the drum. During the process, the copper foil grows on the drum.
Although the specifications and properties of electrolytic copper foil can vary with each manufacturer, the process remains essentially the same. Generally, all foil manufacturers dissolve electrolytic copper or waste copper wire – with the same purity electrolytic copper used as the raw material – in sulfuric acid to produce an aqueous solution of copper sulfate. After that, by taking the metal roller as the cathode, the metallic copper is electrodeposited on the surface of the cathodic roller continuously through electrolytic reaction. It is peeled from the cathodic roller continuously at the same time. This process is known as the foil producing and electrolysis process.
The stripped side (smooth side) from the cathode is the one visible on the surface of the laminated board or PCB, and the reverse side (commonly known as the rough side) is the one that is subject to a series of surface treatments and is bonded with resin in the PCB. The double-sided copper foil is formed by controlling the dose of organic additives in electrolyte in the process of producing copper foil for lithium battery.

Copper Coils
It may seem that a copper coil is a simple piece of coiled wire that can be wound and put to use. As with any form of industrial product, copper coils have to be precisely engineered to fit an application. The winding process has to be completed with precision to ensure the proper distance between the wires and the diameter of the opening.
Each product that uses copper coils requires that a certain number of turns be made to provide the correct amount of resistance. Inaccurate calculations can lead to inefficiency and possible failure of the coil or device. For this reason, the engineers at Metal Associates guarantee that they have closely examined the specification of an application such that the diameter, spacing, wire thickness, and number of turns exactly matches the design of the product where the copper coil will be used.

Copper Sheet
Copper sheet is a very workable and malleable form of metal, high in electrical and thermal conductivity, and provides excellent corrosion resistance. A beautiful and versatile metal, copper has been utilized for thousands of years. Historically, it served as a favorite choice in making tools, vessels, and sculptures. Copper is also known for its beautiful patinas. When exposed, unsealed, to an outdoor environment, copper begins to oxidize. This exposure creates beautiful color variations in the form of a patina. The coloring of the patina will change and develop character over time while serving to protect the metal from deterioration. People will also create a patina quickly with the use of chemical mixtures that speed the process up and allow a patina to develop without outdoor exposure. Copper sheets can also be hammered, tooled, or embossed for added texture and decorative or functional appeal and come in many thicknesses from very thin copper foil to thick copper plate. It also comes in many alloys that blend other metals with copper. At Grand Copper, we sell pure copper -C110 (other alloys and tempers available upon request). This high purity provides the premium quality needed for projects and applications in a wide range of industries and uses. We take pride in providing the best material. Our high-quality, affordable material and friendly, first-rate customer service have made us a leader in the industry for over a decade.

Aluminium foil
Aluminium foil is aluminium prepared in thin metal leaves with a thickness of less than 0.2mm (7.9 mils); thinner gauges down to 4 micrometers are also commonly used. Standard household foil is typically 0.016 mm (0.63 mils) thick, and heavy-duty household foil is typically 0.024 mm (0.94 mils). And the air conditioner foil can be thinner than 0.0047mm, and some food foil thinner than 0.002mm. The foil is pliable and can be readily bent or wrapped around objects. Thin foils are fragile and are sometimes laminated with other materials such as plastics or paper to make them stronger and more useful. It’s used industrially for a variety of purposes, including packing, insulation and transportation. At home, people use aluminum foil for food storage, to cover baking surfaces and to wrap foods, such as meats, to prevent them from losing moisture while cooking.
